The Health and Safety Commission’s Approved Code of Practice and Guidance, L8 (ACoP, L8) recommends that a risk assessment should be carried out on water systems, where there is deemed to be foreseeable risk of proliferation and expose to the Legionella bacteria.

At risk systems include but are not limited to:
- Domestic hot and cold water systems;
- Spa pools;
- Evaporative condensers;
- Industrial cooling towers.

Who should carry out the risk assessment?

The HSE recommends that the legionella risk assessment should be carried out by competent and trained persons. Our team are highly experienced and trained in all aspects of the HSE’s ACoP, L8. They are able to verify their competency with the following:
- City and Guilds qualification;
- Annual competency reviews;
- Accredited by  the Legionella Control Association;
- BS:8580 Water Quality – Risk assessments for Legionella control – Code of Practice.
