Condenser and Fin Fan Cleaning
Performance Studies
Promanex’s technical studies measure and compare current performance against the original design specification to identify levels of efficiency loss through incorrect usage or deterioration and the measures required to restore or improve performance. Promanex use comparative data to determine current effectiveness against original design specification.Our detailed studies encompass a full and thorough analysis of the following:
• Air flow and noise measurement;
• Heat transfer effectiveness through thermal imaging;
• Condenser coils and fins, obstructions and cleanliness;
• Motor ratings, gear ratios;
• Fan configuration and settings;
• Environmental factors – wind shielding;
• Energy consumption.
Process parameters are measured on site, including leak detection and recalculated to identify any mal performing or defective components causing efficiency loss or other problems. The results of the survey can be the justification for corrective actions, such as:
• Bundle cleaning;
• Fan optimization or replacement;
• Bundle repair or replacement;
• Leak detection and repair;
• Noise reduction;
• Spare parts supply;
These corrective actions will have a guaranteed strong effect on reliability, performance and output, with past customers achieving up to 200% performance increases.
Finned Tube Cleaning
Process and atmospheric contamination like dust, pollen and scaling can block the finned tubes and significantly decrease performance. Traditional finned bundle cleaning forces dirt deeper into the bundles increasing the contamination problem over time. Moreover these cleaning methods often damage the bundles.
Promanex provide a specially designed high pressure cleaning rig with innovative unique cleaning heads designed to exactly match the bundle layout. This system is semi automatic and specifically customised to suit each customer’s condenser and bundle layout to ensure 360° cleaning of each tube and full penetration of all tube rows.
The cleaning system travels vertically up and down the full length of the bundle whilst moving horizontally along the path at a predetermined speed leaving no area untouched. A high pressure jet beam is aimed at the surface where fouling has occurred at a predetermined pitch and angle determined by the tube layout. The dirt is then forced through the different bundle layers and washed out completely, leaving the bundles thoroughly clean, enabling higher airflow and creating a larger cooling surface. Airflow increases of 20% minimum have been achieved.
Promanex provide a complete cleaning service inclusive of all the necessary equipment or can operate existing cleaning systems using our specially designed cleaning heads.
